From 1989 to 2001, Tim worked at Bill Few Associates where he assumed various leadership positions including acting/interim CEO, president, COO, Director of Human Resources and a member of the board of directors.  While working at Bill Few Associates, he entered the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business’s executive MBA program, which he completed in 1999.  He left Bill Few Associates in 2001 and enrolled in the Katz Graduate School of Business’s PhD program to pursue his passions for teaching and coaching.  He graduated in 2007 with a PhD degree in strategic management (major) and organizational behavior/social psychology (minor).

Over the years, Tim has taught college level courses at various institutions including the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania State University, La Roche College and Edinboro University. Courses he has taught include strategy, business ethics, entrepreneurship, leadership, management, business communication and human resource management. 

While at Edinboro University, he served in a leadership capacity as Chair of the Department of Business and Economics from 2013 to 2017.  During his tenure, he guided the department through a strategic planning process in an effort to not only provide the department with much needed vision and direction but also increase student satisfaction, enrollment and retention. 

In 2017, Tim enrolled in the Center for Executive Coaching’s executive coach certification program.  After years of intensive study and training, Tim earned his executive coach certification in 2019.

His research focuses on the areas of organizational identity, organizational identification, competitor identification, and top management teams, which have led to publications in the Journal of Labor Research, International Journal of Business Environment, Competitiveness Review and the European Journal of International Management as well as presentations at the Academy of Management and Strategic Management Society.

Tim has extensive nonprofit experience through the various leadership and committee positions he has undertaken while at Penn State and Edinboro University.  Other nonprofit experience includes serving on the board of directors of the Family Business Roundtable and volunteering in various capacities at the following nonprofits: Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management, Business of Humanity Project, Stay Focused for the Future, Ice House Erie, College for Every Student Erie, and the Northwestern Career Pathways Project.
